Vintage Child's Chair

I spotted this cute wee chair earlier in the week and had to have it...
(please excuse the picture quality, I think my camera is trying to tell me it wants to retire!)

The frame was a little beaten up and some of the plastic coating over the metal frame is brittle and falling off...but I think that all just adds to the charm.

I removed the chair feet, and gave the frame a good scrub down.  I got rid of the seat covering and whipped up a new one on the new sewing machine I got in December, can't believe it took me this long to fire it up, I love it!  (It is pink, which helps it go better, of course...bit like my yellow car ;)

So this is the made-over version...
The new seat cover is made of denim which I used inside-out.  The Union Jack-style embellishment is a couple of my favourite styles of ribbon stitched on.  The ties are also a ribbon.  New rubber feet finish it off.

The little Union Jack Chair is available now for sale at Piper & Rush for $45.

Happy Friday!

Items For Sale

I have just added a 'For Sale' page to my blog, it is with the other pages just under my blog header.

When I take my finished items to Piper & Rush, I will load a photo with the description, date and price of each item on the For Sale page.  To purchase an item you will need to make a visit to Piper & Rush.  I will update the page regularly as items are sold, but as I am not at the shop every day, please forgive me if an item sells and remains on the page for a few days!

I will also start a 'For Sale' album on my Facebook Page.

Here is a shot of the front window that I took yesterday...

Blogger threaded commenting/replying to comments

Sorry for the boring pictureless post, but I have just learnt something that was interesting to me, and I thought I would share.

Now I fully understand that it is entirely possible that everyone else in blogland already knows about/does this, but to my regular commenters, I need your help please :)

Comments on my posts come to me via email, and I (usually) try my best to reply to them all.  I can't reply to the commenters that don't have an email address loaded on the Blogger profile.

What I have just realised this morning is that Blogger has recently enabled threaded commenting.

Here is the link with how to do it:

In fact, my settings were already as they should be, which would have possibly just been the default settings.  This meant that I could just click on 'comments' at the end of my posts, and hit 'Reply'.  Yay!

So, what I'd like help with, is could my regular commenters please let me know if they have been notified of my reply to their last comment?  You may have to opt in to see comment replies, I haven't worked that bit out yet.

If anyone reading this has any tips or advice to add, that would be great.

Painting and upcycling furniture is my thing.  Seeing potential in old unloved things comes easy to me.
Computer stuff...not so much!

xx Karen
