Hi there! We are finally in our 'new' home and starting to feel settled, even though some of the cupboards and the garage tells a different story! Settled and organised = totally different things at the moment! It is wonderful to be in our own home again after moving countries and then renting for six months, and I am very excited to start making it feel like ours. The pictures I have to share here today were taken the day we got the keys. Here goes the tour...

| Moving in day - one truck wasn't quite enough! |
We have now been living here for a week and in that time, we have had new carpet put down, removed a kitchen cabinet (so the fridge would fit in the kitchen) chopped back some trees, waterblasted the back yard, removed a very rusted dangerous looking outdoor light, replaced the laundry door, and installed new door hardware on the front door (hinges, knobs and deadlocks). We have had three house guests for the weekend just gone, one of whom is still here and has actually been with us for two weeks. He is responsible for much of the work that has been done - thanks Stan! Stan is visiting us all the way from Canada...don't think we want to let him go home...we keep telling him he is meant to be here on holiday, but he likes to do stuff, so we happily oblige ;)
Here he is here, in action removing the kitchen cabinet...
Would you believe our fridge was only a few mm too tall! We even tried taking the feet off but it didn't help. Even if we had got it in, the cupboards above wouldn't have been able to open as our fridge door is higher than the actual body of it. Never mind!
Here is a photo of the lounge with new carpet...the installers were doing the hallway when I took the photo. The 'Linen' colour carpet makes the house so much lighter. It is 100% NZ Wool, of course!
That's all I have for now, I'll be back later this week with some photos of the house furnished :)
thanks for the tour! glad to hear you are settling in.
